Starting an Amazon business can be a fun and rewarding journey. Amazon has certainly changed the game in regard to what it takes to start an eCommerce business, making it much more attainable to build a global business in record time.
In our opinion, a great first step is to educate yourself via one of the many Amazon courses that exist in the market place. You can start with courses as simple as those found on sites like Udemy.com, or you can get involved with more substantial online courses like the one I created. Through my course, you'll not only get online training but access to a community of real students that you can interact with and get support from.
No matter which way you go, getting educated about how to sell on Amazon is a great first step.
Once you've got someone to guide you, the next step to starting an Amazon business is to start researching different products. Finding the right product to sell is one of the most important things you do.
Here's a short video of Jon (ZonGuru CEO) and I discussing product selection.
Once you've found some products that you're interested in, the key is to start tracking the sales of similar products on Amazon. That's where ZonGuru comes in.
By using ZonGuru's Sales Spy tool, you can get accurate sales data on exactly how many units as being each and every day of similar products on Amazon right now. This is extremely valuable information! Finding great products is the basis of building a great Amazon business.
From that point, it's really best to follow the advice of an online program, hire a coach or find yourself a mentor who has built an Amazon business before. There are a LOT of steps to getting an Amazon business started but it's well worth it.
